Corporate Governors graduate from Smurifit
Congratulations to Catherine Corcoran who graduated this month with a diploma in Corporate Governance form the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Catherine is pictured above with Niamh Brenna, Programme director; Valerie Mulhall, director of operations and head of the NAMA Project at Irish Nationwide Building Society and Eilish Finan, non-executive director with NAMA. Catherine describes her experiences in the paragraph below.
‘This was a marvelous opportunity to develop a depth of knowledge in corporate governance from every perspective – risk, legal, financial and behaviorally. The learning was enhanced by a truly challenging group of classmates all of whom hold senior positions either in a senior executive or non executive role. We effectively learnt to adopt a rigorous holistic approach in how we conduct our corporate governance and the underlying reasons for doing so. It equipped us with the skills and courage to meet the challenges we all now face and act as agents for change in how businesses are run’
